Scott and I were so lucky when the driver we asked our hotel to provide turned out to be Vinod. We had intended to just spend a day touring Jaipur and ended up spending nearly two weeks traveling around Rajisthan with him.
He showed us sights we would never have seen on our own, found us terrific places to eat, stay and shop (and provided advice on how to negotiate good prices).
He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of his country, culturally, historically and politically and most important, he has a great sense of humor and is a pleasure to be with--an important attribute since traveling in India can be SLOW.
Finally, he is a safe driver and that's extremely important!.
